“The inaugural Sporting Classics of Monaco auction, held at the Grimaldi Forum on 1st May well, saw five automobiles fetch costs in excess of £1.7 million and two new world records”, according to RMAuctions.com. The pinnacle was the 1937 BMW 328 Mille Miglia Bügelfalte, which was sold much less than 24 hours soon after the end of the auction for a confidential figure- having reached a high bid of £3.8 million.

It has been reported that registered bidders from 33 diverse countries had been present at the auction over the telephone, via the internet or in individual at its very first ever event in Monaco, held in conjunction with the Historic Grand Prix.
